"A Mother Like Me"
Comfort, Hope and Encouragement for Grieving Moms

Picture

The loss of a child marks the beginning of a journey through grief that will lead to healing and peace or to crippling pain, sorrow, doubts, perplexities and despair.

This website is created for moms who have suffered the loss of a child.
The benefit and convenience of online social networking makes it possible for us to be connected, as a community of moms, even if we can't be together face-to-face or companion with one another side-by-side. You can also find me on Facebook @ amotherlikeme@facebook.com. I have also included blogs from my "Iron-Spirited Women's Fellowship" to encourage moms who have and are grieving to lean into and rely on God to give us His healing peace, while we seek to possess a "marathon mindset of faith to finish well," and to not pull away from Him, but draw closer to Him in our time(s) of sorrow and pain.

We are tied together and connected by the heartstrings of our loss, grief, and a desire to experience a measure of God's love, comfort, hope, encouragement and His healing peace.

After retiring from full-time grief support leadership, as the Co-Founding Director of  "Mothers Like Me Comfort Ministry" for grieving moms in 2013, my heart is settled on continuing my ministry of faith, hope and love to grieving moms all over the Nation.

My mother's heart hurts to think of the large number of grieving moms who live with the intense, unthinkable loss of a child/children everyday, especially those who try to make it through their journey of grief alone. I have personally experienced, in the company of hundreds of grieving moms through the years, that the journey of grief is better made in the company of others who are acquainted with grief, especially other "moms like us."

I am pleased that you have visited my website. You can also join my Facebook page where many other moms are connected, encouraged at

This website has been created and maintained . . .

To encourage a connection and provide resources for grieving moms to experience a measure of comfort, hope and encouragement
for the challenging journey through grief.

To encourage grieving moms to draw close to God to experience a deeper level of intimacy, trust and dependency upon Him with the hope of experiencing His great exchange as "He gives beauty for ashes, joy for mourning and praise for the spirit of heaviness . . . " (Isaiah 61:3)

To encourage grieving moms to remember, honor and celebrate our children.

To encourage a network of compassionate women to "comfort others, as they themselves have been comforted by God" II Corinthians 1:4

Explore the webpages. I hope you will find something that will bring a measure of comfort and will encourage you to grieve with hope. Please know that you are not alone in your grief.
