"After this I saw a vast crowd, too great to count, from every nation and tribe and people and language, standing in front of the Throne and before the Lamb. They were clothed in white robes and held palm branches in their hands. And they were shouting with a great roar, "Salvation comes from our God who sits on the Throne and from the Lamb!" (NLT)
In this season of a pandemic, hatred, violence and lawlessness, I have cried out to God for a calm and specific guidance and wisdom as to how I should respond to the circumstances that at times overwhelms me.
For months, I have prayed for a personal word from my Father in Heaven, and today I received not only the answer to my prayer, but comfort and encouragement for my anxious heart in the midst of this tumultuous, cultural storm that is passing through our Nation with a relentless fury.
This morning, when my feet hit the floor, I knew that I had to have a Sabbath (a rest from my labor). My heart and soul needed quiet and stillness, and I was longing to hear something from my loving Abba (daddy).
To my delight, He led me to the Proverbs for the day - July 10th's reading - which spoke directly to my heart, as if He was in the room telling me "I am here, read this." So much of this Proverb was profoundly encouraging to me, but I penned the date in my Bible next to the words below so that I would always remember yet another time, when His Holy Word was "the lamp unto my feet and the light unto my path." -Psalm 119:vs 105
"A fool finds pleasure in wicked schemes, but a person of understanding delights in wisdom. What the wicked dread will overtake them; what the righteous (those right and at peace with God) desire will be granted. When the storm has swept by, the wicked are gone, but the righteous stand firm forever." Vs 23-25
"The prospect of the righteous is joy, but the hopes of the wicked come to nothing. The way of the Lord is a refuge for the blameless, but it is the ruin of those who do evil. The righteous will never be uprooted, but the wicked will not remain in the land." vs 28-30
I feel strongly that wickedness is rampant in our Country, but I stand firm in promise that the "wicked will not remain in the land."
Now and always, it is essential and imperative for me to be at peace and "right with God" - "dwelling in the shadow of the Almighty" with a tongue and voice that speaks words of wisdom and hopeof hope in a time where hopelessness, bitterness and hatred seemingly overshadows anything good. These are trying times and I cling to the promises of God with a firm grip!
Thanking God for His faithfulness to me, to you, to all of His children, and that He is our "refuge and strength, a very present help in times of trouble."
With Faith, Hope and Love,
